Step 4: Bake
Place the flan molds in a baking dish. Fill the saucepan with hot water to create a double boiler. The water should reach approximately half of the cups of flan.
Carefully place the mold in the preheated oven.
Bake the flan for about 45 to 50 minutes, or until it is firm but still slightly jiggly in the center. When inserting a knife or toothpick into the flan it should come out clean.
Step 5: Cool and serve
Remove the flan pans from the water bath and let them cool to room temperature.
Once cooled, you can serve the Amish Oven Flan as is or chill it in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving.
