This dish we made last night was phenomenal; It’s worth more than 5 stars!

Oh, chicken fried steak…this comforting staple brings all the cozy vibes of Southern cuisine right to your table. Its origins are a bit of a cozy mystery, blending the best of country cooking with the inspiration for Wiener Schnitzel brought by German immigrants. Someone might want to make this because, honestly, who doesn’t want to turn an affordable cut of beef into a tender, crispy, golden dream? It’s a hug on a plate after a long day at work.
Chicken fried steak just begs for company with a side of creamy mashed potatoes to soak up all that rich gravy. Lightly buttered green beans or an ear of sweet corn can add a pop of color and freshness to your plate. And if you want to go there in complete comfort, a flaky biscuit as an accompaniment would not be shunned by anyone at the table.
